Very low download speed (~1 Mbps) when using Beryl AX with Acer Connect Enduro M3

Hi everyone,

I’m running into a strange issue when using my GL.iNet Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) as a Wi-Fi repeater connected to an Acer Connect Enduro M3 (5G mobile router).

Here’s what happens:

– Upload is fine (10–70 Mbps depending on conditions)
– But download is limited to ~1 Mbps
– I’ve tested both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands – same result
– I’m using repeater mode

The weird part is that every other device I connect to the Acer’s Wi-Fi (phones, laptops, etc.) gets full speed – typically 10–70 Mbps upload and 50–350 Mbps download. So the problem shows up only when going through the Beryl.

Also worth noting: when I use the Beryl with any other router or hotspot, everything works perfectly.

I suspect it might be some NAT or routing issue on Acer’s side, but maybe someone here has seen similar behavior or found a workaround? Any config changes worth trying? MTU tweaks, DNS settings, firewall rules?

I’ve already reported the issue to Acer support, but I’d really appreciate input from this community too.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

  1. When Beryl AX is connected to M3, can the wireless negotiation rate of Beryl AX be checked in M3?

  2. Is this data tested from speedtest.net?

  3. If it is changed to a wired connection, is there any improvement?

  4. Please try to install op24-4.7.5 firmware for Beryl AX, GL.iNet download center
