I Opted to upgrade my FranklinT10 hotspot device to the GL-AX3000 (Spitz). While my VOIP worked fine on the Franklin Model Router, the speeds were about 6x less than what is gained from using the GL-AX3000.
Problem. My VOIP won't work, and there is no SIP/ALG on the device. I've tried doing port forwarding, and maybe I'm messing it up, but it won't allow me to call outbound from my VOIP service.
Ports needed are 5060 and 5061.
Please Help, even my SIP ALG test shows no sip alg and the ports are not being blocked, so I'm not sure whats preventing my outbound phone calls.
I tried updating to 4.7.1 beta to resolve the issue, but It's still blocking the outbound calls. Also weirdly in red at the top of the admin panel it says I don't have internets even though I do... it's hilarious, It doesn't show my cellular connection is proper and it gave an option to turn on SIP/ALG and NAT cone which weren't there before. I think the Beta may have been switched up for an alternate router, even though it was suppose to be the GL-X3000 Spitz
Previous router is not specific to T-mobile. It's a plug and play hotspot. It did have SIP/ALG and I was able to white list the 5060 and 5061 ports. But the GL-X3000 doesn't have SIP/ALG on as a default and so through traffic is working according to my SIP ALG detector. So even though I attempted to release 5060 and 5061 anyhow the outbound calls are still not going through.
my Temu Cheap $44.00 Router apparently arrived last night. I just put the chip in there and the VOIP works as well... but the range ... 1 bed room lol.
So this seems to be a modem issue for the GL-X3000 if we can't get it to work I'll have to return it and try something else.
Yes, because you are being blocked by the network traffic coming directly from the carriers side; You have to call your VOIP service, or if you have an options menu on your VOIP service under settings, and switch the 5060/5061 to TCP instead of UDP. All of the VOIP services have this capability. UDP was leading T-Mobile and VZ vulnerable to attack so they did an update that blocked the UDP throughput regardless of what router you use. Unless you are okay with using a 4G connection only at 10mbps which sometimes falls to 2mbps on a generic franklinT10 or other similar setup, you won't be able to utilize your highspeed internet data unless switched to TCP. At this point has nothing to do with SIP/ALG on the router or firewall end.
