Greetings,
A friend of mine has been using VPN routers to travel the world while working remotely for a few years. My friend has been to several countries already and their employer has not said anything to them, despite a policy that does not allow out of country travel. My friend is using 2 glinet routers, including one set up as the home server, and another as the travel router.
However, my friend´s employer has a list of specific banned countries where they are not allowed to bring company owned devices. Some of these countries include Colombia and Brazil.
My question is, would this company be able to detect if my friend is in one of the banned countries like Colombia or Brazil, if he uses the two travel routers to hide his location? Considering he has been able to avoid detection for this many years, is it possible that the company has additional cybersecurity restrictions in place that could catch him or deny his access if he were to login to the company device, even using the glinet VPN routers?
