I subscribe to surfshark (ss) and am wondering if using it is my best option. Is WireGuard a better option? Can I install both at the same time? Is WireGuard a free program? Thanks for any advice.
They are both based on same VPN protocol. WireGuard is just a protocol / method for VPNs. Many commercial VPN providers like Surfshark use WireGuard as one of their main VPN protocols. When people talk about "WireGuard", they mostly mean setting your own personal VPN tunnel (which is free). When you talk about VPN providers (like SurfShark, Nord, Windscribe, Torguard...etc.), then you are talking about commercial VPN (usually paid for) tunnel. Each method has its uses and different advantages.
