Which wifi extender with flint2

Hi, which wifi extender do you suggest to use with flint2?

Hi

Well, we don’t have an officially recommended Wi-Fi extender specifically for the Flint 2.

However, other GL.iNet routers also support Extender mode, so you can choose a suitable one based on your needs.

If you prefer to use WDS mode, keep in mind that compatibility between different chipsets can be unreliable. In that case, we recommend getting another MT6000.

Thank you.

Some less expensive?

As mentioned earlier, if it’s only being used as an extender, other models will work as well—feel free to choose whichever suits your needs.

Hi. I have basically the same question as OP. We have a Flint 2 router that we like a lot. I have run ethernet through our entire house, but in my office and hobby room the Wi-Fi coverage is not the best.

I am looking at the Opal to extend the Wi-Fi. Ideally I would like to connect the Opal to the Flint 2 through Ethernet, but I am not sure if that’s how it works. Can I do that to extend the same Wi-Fi network, or can it only extend by being reasonably close to and amplifying the Wi-Fi signal it receives from the Flint 2?

Hope that makes sense

I basically only need 2.4GHz wi-fi in these rooms for ESP32 based projects and my 3D printer. Most everything else is on ethernet.

Hi

Yes, you can connect the Opal to the Flint 2 via Ethernet to extend your existing Wi-Fi, which is called AP mode.

I did just that with a Flint 1. I actually have a thread about it. It works great.
