I use a Seestar S30 smart telescope in my back garden. I connect to its Wi-Fi from my house using either my smartphone or tablet. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi signal from the Seestar is not very strong so I often lose the connection. I want to use a travel router, placed near the Seestar, to boost the Seestar's WiFi signal so that I getter a better connection from my house. So my question is....
Do GL.iNet Wi-Fi routers when used in repeater mode have different signal strengths and if so, which ones have the strongest signal for me to connect to from my house?
If you can't control the power of all your devices, I wouldn't worry about whether the gl.inet router can do it or not. The right approach is to install enough repeaters with lower power.
The problem is having a router at home that provides a strong signal (say, 100 meters) with devices like phones that don't have that power (say, 50 meters). That's why there are communication issues.
If you only need a repeater and aren't going to take it out of the house, the gl.inet router wouldn't be a first choice for me. It has more capabilities than just repeating signals and is more expensive, so it's not worth using it only as a static repeater at home. Although it will probably work for you.
