Hey guys, long gl.inet user here, just wanna know your opinion from the security and privacy standpoint.
I feel with the gl inet tor on the router, plus a vpn on the device, or better second gl inet with the vpn over tor you should achieve the unlimate privacy, pretty much like on whonix and tails.
Sure I’m not talking about fingerprints, but for real, do you really need to go that deep?
I have spent days with whonix, setting vps, android emulators on the vps and sucks a lot, it’s so slow and unreliable.
Meanwhile I was able to create a gmail account on my android phone in 30 seconds without even linking a phone number.
So what’s your opinion on that, and how solid this set up compared to whonix or tails
on tor i disagree there is privacy, but if vpn routes through tor its much safer.
since tor has alot of donated endpoints, some have tendencies to be malicious evil aswell.
Although i don't know if gl-inet or whonix does this by default?
This depends, usually i don't use tor but it can be heavily convient when for example you are on a cgnat, or use a vpn which gets misused by other users, you can bypass a cdn block, these can get very annoying lately if half of akamai or amazon aws ghosts you
imagine you just visit playstation store and suddenly it says error the store has technical maintenance, but then for more than 2 weeks, but in fact they litterly blocked the vpn, tor could be a easy choice as exit point.
^ i used it in the past with pbr to pre route domains, like rockstargames i wish something like that could be in gl-inets firmware
