I have a Flint 1 2 & 3 when the WiFi coverage is talked about is this 2.4 & 5.8GHz or just 2.4GHz, my personal experience is the best coverage I find is the Flint 2 on both bands and the flint 1 close but the Flint 3 is slightly less on 5.8GHz, I noticed the spec on the Flint 3e, I would be interested where that one actually sits in real experience, on paper it looks to be the best coverage.
Hi
Yes, our internal testing indicates that the coverage of the Flint 3e is comparable to that of the Flint 2.
But please keep in mind that these are laboratory results; actual performance may vary depending on your specific environment and obstacles.
Thank you for replying, I totally understand every dwelling is different the high frequency you go the more the signal will be degraded especially if you have a chimney stuck in the middle of the house like me, I have been thinking of using my GL-AX1800 Flint in AP mode, I do like the flint range I probably will get a Flint 3e got the set then ![]()
If you need a wider coverage (but with less datarate) on 2.4 GHz you should choose 20MHz bandwidth and maximum power. On 5GHz choose the lowest bandwidth available and use only non-DFS-channels at maximum power.
I totally agree on the 20MHz on 2.4g GHz, but noticed no difference worth mentioning on DFS channels, may have something to do with the design put into the how good the 5.8GHz channels are, as the higher frequency will tend to taper off.
