Hi GL.iNet, I’ve got an A1300 that I like using the GL.inet firmware images. Sadly it’s stuck on 4.5.22 (04/25), and while there was a beta for 4.7.2 (12/24), it is older than the stable branch.
I see that A1300 is not mentioned regarding 4.8 (so I know that’s not coming), but would love for 4.7 to get a stable release, is this coming?
I’d appreciate any information that can be shared on A1300’s firmware roadmap.
(I’m also patiently awaiting 4.8 to get to stable for my AX1800)
I believe A1300, like AX1800, will skip v4.7 and move directly to a v4.8 release. However, this won’t happen very soon, as it still depends on completing the porting work and allocating resources for testing.
The AX1800 v4.8.3 stable release is currently in the testing phase and may take some time.
Your blog stated in May of 2024 that the A1300 would shortly get 4.6. Your firmware download page in Feb 2026 shows it is still on 4.5.22. You now state that not only will it not get 4.6, it will also not get 4.7. A year from now, will we learn its not going to be updated until 5.x?
You have time to release a full page of new products, but you don’t have time to keep your promises to your current customers. Very Sad
As mentioned before, except for a small number of devices that cannot receive v4.6 due to hardware limitations, we’ve done our best to release at least a v4.6 or v4.7 beta version for all affected devices.
If you encounter any issues in the beta versions, you’re always welcome to report them—we’ll do our best to get them fixed.
