Will it be a new version of the Mudi?

Will it be a new version of the Mudi?

What is 'it'?

Or you asked will the Mudi have new models? I would say yes, new model in the roadmap.

Do you have a estimated time of when it will be release? Because I am interested, but I don't want to waste money.

Probably in the Q2 - Q3 2025 :slightly_smiling_face:

Update the cellular modem to support 5G, more powerful, larger battery.

And the price?
And what is the difference between

EM060K-G and EM05-G

Difference is cat 5 and cat 6 modems. Cat 6 has more frequencies, more speed.

I have a Mudi v2 with cat 6 - EM060K-G and I’m very happy with it and I will definitely buy the Mudi v3.

Hey GL-iNet fans, I just came across the Zyxel NR2301 5G Portable Router, and it got me dreaming about what the next generation of GL-iNet Mudi could be like. My dream Mudi V3 would be with the following specs:

• Aluminum casing – For durability and better heat management as 5G modems generate a lot of heat.
• Dual-SIM support – Essential for seamless connectivity, especially when switching between networks.
• WiFi 6 or even WiFi 7 – For the best wireless speeds and coverage.
• Dual modem option – So it could switch modems quickly if one connection drops, maintaining uninterrupted service.
• 5G capability – Keeping up with the latest high-speed mobile connectivity.

I’ve read on GL-Inet forums that Mudi with 5G could get pretty hot, but maybe a small fan could help manage the heat? Honestly, I’d be ready to pay even €399 for a Mudi with these features.

For reference, the Zyxel NR2301 has some great specs like 5G NR with DL speeds up to 3.4 Gbps, WiFi 6 AX1800 and a 2.4” LCD display. If GL-iNet could bring something similar with their next Mudi, it would be my dream travel router!

What do you guys think? Would anyone else be excited for a high-end Mudi V3 with these capabilities?

Why not get the Zyxel NR2301 5G then?

On a serious note though. What you need is a Teltonika (minus the built-in battery). Blows everything out of the water with their immaculate hardware and software combination.

Among all of the requests this one is the most difficult one. It will be double cost and giant in size.

Will an Andriod phone work, if the price is less than $500?

I shoved a RM520 in my mudi but it feels hacky and I'd like to see MIMO internal antennas. Bigger battery is needed with this upgrade as well.

I'm happy to have run into this thread, really excited for v3! While I renjoy using my Mudi v1 and Puli AX, a truly portable 5G solution with the v3 would be amazing.

My biggest wish for v3 is for it to improve the VPN speed (especially Wireguard :dragon:) and bring it on par with the rest of gl.inet modems, probably somewhere around the 300mbps range at least (client mode).

Both v1 and v2 cap around 40mbps speed which is slow enough to cause noticeable issues, and as someone who uses the VPN feature all the time, this would make the upgrade to 5G much more worth it for me.

And I hope it comes with a global modem and physical SIM support like the v2!
