Will SIMPoYo uFi works with stock Openwrt and another SIM card

Hi,

I saw the new SIMPoYo offering SIMPoYo uFi (SP-N150C4) – Plug & Play 4G USB Dongle with Hotspot - GL.iNet and would like to give it a go.

I have 2 doubts:

  • I would only use the SIMPoYo data plan abroad but I need to use my local ISP SIM card too, is it possible or the dongle is locked?
  • I run stock OpenWRT on my GL iNet router, will it works.

Hello,

  1. The local ISP SIM card is available. We have not locked the SIM card, but what you need to check SP-N150C4 is the frequency band support with local ISP.
  2. What you provided is the openwrt router support list, SP-N150C4 is not a router, so it will not be in that list. The vanilla openwrt may not be pre-installed with kmod-usb-net-rndis by default. Please install this relevant module, re-plug to load the dongle, and create a new interface manually.
