The desktop app should provide functionality for local access, without requiring a glkvm account.
Thank you for your request — we've submitted it to our R&D team for evaluation.
Why not use a browser to access ?
Browser needs to be full screen for some keys to register properly.
Sometimes I prefer windowed mode to multi-task, and may press CTRL+W to close the browser tab in the remote instance, but that actually closes the glkvm page instead.
A dedicated app with local access makes much more sense.
Came to say the same. I use my Comet Pro to access my notebook while on my desktop to be able to navigate between both machines at the same time. Browser doesn’t work well, specially with common shortcuts like Ctrl+w, which closes the KVM session and Windows key, which although works on the remote machine, it also activates on the local machine.
I was naive enough to think that the KVM was using my local network, instead of sending and receiving packets through the Internet for machines that are 1ft away. I was wondering why there was so much lag if both machines were using ethernet cables.
Enough with me ranting. The app should support local connection, just like the android app does.
In MacOS up to app version 1.2, local access was routed correctly only through LAN with low latency. For some reason this functionality was broken on 1.3 and latest 1.4 Now the app routes all input through internet with very high latency even for local devices. Please bring back local, direct routing for devices sharing the same LAN while using the App.
