Wireguard broken with DDNS

When DDNS is enabled wireguard server still generates config files with hardcoded Endpoint IP which breaks as soon as IP changes.

It's very painful to fix that on the phone and generate correct QR codes.

Please use DDNS domain when enabled and maybe add option to override this.

Using Flint 3

Hi

This feature is supported.

In version 4.7, we introduced an option to enable or disable the use of DDNS domain names.

In version 4.8, you can click the address bar to select which address should be used: public address, WAN address or DDNS domain.

Thanks, you are right now I found it.

I was looking for this in server options. I still think it makes more sense to have it in server options vs having to set it every time I do export.

Thank you for your suggestion.

The current preference for public IP addresses stems from the fact that some users may not have DDNS enabled.
We will discuss this with the product manager to explore potential improvements.

if we could add a persistent option to use the ddns name it would be great, if you could make it also allow for any name to be entered and persisted that would be even better - that would cater to users (like me) who use their own domain names.

Does this requirement stem from the need to avoid manually reselecting settings when re-exporting configurations?

Perhaps we could have the product team explore implementing a feature to remember the last selection.
This way, whether using a public IP address, DDNS or private IP address, users wouldn't need to reselect during subsequent exports.

Thank you for your suggestion.
We will have the product team evaluate it to see if this functionality can be implemented in the future.
