As title says, AT&T Fiber is my ISP (router model BGW320). I am trying to setup Wireguard by connecting Brume 2 to the AT&T router. My goal is to use AXT1800 when I travel and route all my traffic through my home network (AT&T).
Based on my research, I believe I must request (and pay for) static, public IP addresses from AT&T in order to properly configure the Wireguard server via Brume 2? Is that correct or is there an option to complete the configuration without requesting static, public IPs from AT&T?
I am not well-versed in network config, but have done a lot of research and checked this forum for answers. Hoping for anyone who can help provide clarity or has experience completing this configuration with AT&T as their ISP.
You can choose to request the public IP address only, even if it is dynamic (this may save a little cost).
After requesting the public IP, you can set up the home VPN Server in MT2500, and then AXT1800 as VPN client and connected to the MT2500 via the VPN on a different place.
Thank you for replying. Instead of requesting a public IP from my ISP, I will try Tailscale.
Do you think that will work for my use case, which is to configure a wiregaurd server at home and connect to it with a travel router? Or do you think I will encounter a different issue if I try to use Tailscale instead of a public IP from my ISP?
I've used Brume 2 wireguard with my ATT fiber router, without paying extra for anything. I don't remember the exact settings I used now, but just letting you know that it does work
