Do you need to add Peers to the (LuCI) router Wireguard interfaces on OpenWrt and for iPhone connecting to VPN. Do I have to add each device to be able to connect to the VPN or can I just copy profiles to any client device? 
It’s quicker, easier to just use GL GUI for setting up WG. You can always edit the resulting confs of ea. clent profile as needed. That’s just my 0.02USD.
