WLAN-Connection

Is it possible to operate the RM1 with a WLAN stick instead of cable? If so, which hardware promises the most problem-free handling?

The RM1 not support WIFI.

Let me explain. There are countless models of WLAN sticks, and we simply cannot provide support for them. Even if it's possible, it's definitely limited to a few models. It would be better to buy RM10(built in wlan)

Which device is the RM10? I don't see it.

So, I have an Asus usb WLAN-stick here that's recognized by almost all operating systems and which mounted out of the box. RM1 lists it under lsusb, but nothing is detected with iw. The corresponding firmware file seems to be missing. Where could I find it? PIKVM?
A general guide with key information for mounting external USB devices would be nice.
Perhaps the problem could be solved with a more modern kernel than 4.19.111? Is there a plan to replace this relatively dead horse? If so, in what timeframe?

I've subscribed to RM10.

As I mentioned before, we do not support external wireless network cards. Regarding the kernel, it depends on the chip manufacturer. If the chip manufacturer does not provide upgrades, there's nothing we can do about it. This is because the chip manufacturer controls the GPU drivers. OpenWRT can upgrade freely because they have open-source wireless drivers and don't require GPU drivers, but this type of product does not have that capability.

What about a current kernel?

rockchip provide 4.19 kernel to us so we just simply use it
