I decided to downgrade again to 0408release4 which brought back my normal speed
which is between 250-300 mbps
i have even tried the beta version, it is same case (also it does not show esim) is thete something wrong
i am using Mullvad btw, was something changed in that maybe?
@support can anyone explain the reason behind this update?
RSRQ seems very bad somehow in the newer versions, also i have noticed connection drops a lot more often happening while uploading files or downloading files
UPDATE: after few days of testing, the beta version disconnects constantly,
i have decided to go back to my good old stable firmware version: 0408release4
I am on the beta you mentioned and have >100mbs both down/up (the 5G tower maxes out at 140 mbps down here, the GL-X3000 is very close to what my Samsung Z flip 5 can do. Smasung with real Telekom SIM, GLi with keepgo Corvus eSIM).
(also it does not show esim)
The eSIM works for me, but you need a "physical eSIM" (nano SIM to store the profiles on). It was sold out in the EU store until 24 Oct, I ordered mine on Oct 26 (24 EUR inl. shipping and VAT) and received it yesterday.
how far away is your 5g cell tower? is it 5g sa or nsa?
my 5g cell tower is roughly 4km away, it is giving me 50 mbps (slow asl), which is expected given the distance. My 5g NSA at pick max 300 mbps down - 100-200 mbps up.
also becareful so far i know telekom germany has put a limit on 5g sa gaming option, it is only for sora gaming not for anything else
5g tower is about 1km away. It's 5G NSA + LTE (needed in Germany to keep the 5G registered).
I am now on the new 4.13 firmware, and discovered it maxed out because I used is a polish eSIM which used Telekom for roaming (I think 140/100 is already fast enough to keep me very happy, it's just the GL-X3000 can do much more). The roaming maxes out either because Telekom puts a speed limit on it or because they have to route the data from the German tower to the provider in Poland and back to the German server which takes time, e.g. the ping on my fibre connection is 8 ms, on 5G Telekom Germany 20 ms, and on the roaming card it's 120 ms).
I tested a German Telekom physical SIM today, looked for a good speed test Server and got 330 mbps down and 120 up this is even more than my Samsung Z Flip 5 can do with the same card. It's a 9 EUR/4 weeks prepaid card, so nothing fancy. When I set the GL-X to load balancing with my fibre connection, I get speeds > 500 mbs down and 250 mbs up.
So 0413release2 firmware from 2024 Oct 25 works great with Telekom Germany (and has eSIM manager enabled, too).
@kkvpn: if the 5G Telekom tower near you isn't fast enough for your needs, maybe you could try Vodafone. They started their black weeks sale today. If you order an eSIM and their "10 GB for 10 EUR every 4 weeks" prepaid card, you'll get the first 30 GB/3 months for free with code "BONUS30" and can cancel immediately afterwards. Up until December, their 24 months contracts are reduced to 40 EUR/months and come with a real 5G flat rate for the full 24 months (so we can test with the free deal and jump on the big one if the speeds are good).
Thanks a lot to the development team, you rock and I love the GL-X3000!
In this screenshot, only cellular is enable (repeater and ethernet turned off):
It's 5G NSA + LTE (needed in Germany to keep the 5G registered).
Telekom has not rolled out 5G SA yet for all users (it is only for s24 ultra for sora gaming), 5G NSA is just using the 4G Core which supports a wider range
I am not really interested in Vodafone, i have looked up all towers near me, telekom has is the only one that is the closest to me.
i have very similar results
even using vpn i get 280 mbps which is pretty good,
to speed it up you may wanna disable few useless settings such as LED, Network Acceleration, Interface Status Tracking Method (http://192.168.8.1/#/multiwan)
The speed was fixed (although in 4.4.8 I had gotten 300Mbps, while in the beta version I got a maximum of 250Mbps, which was negotiable). However, the router would lose connection periodically, and a yellow "connecting" message would appear that wouldn't resolve itself.
I would have to either disconnect and reconnect manually, or sometimes even restart the router.
There was also an issue with the "lock tower" function. Every time I clicked on it, it would begin searching but then display a red message saying "restart your router." This caused the cell information to disappear, and I had to restart the router to regain the ability to disconnect or reconnect.
All in all, while it was good to have experienced the beta version, these issues made me switch back to my old stable version. 4.4.8 remains the best version.
Can you give me a screenshot of "restart your router" message? Seems that this is a router hang.
When this happens, are you still able to refresh the page and get the log? Or ssh to the router and get the log? If yes pls help to get the log.
After you went back to the old firmware, there is no such issue?
