after updating the modems firmware it got significantly better.
Almost had no disconnets during 4h drive. And I guess when the disconnets occured it was rather because there was no reception at all.

I have similar issues, in the middle of Teams call it drops to 4G without any stability reason, causing my call to freeze for 40 seconds. Also Vodafone Germany as OP.
Can you please summarize your steps taken from here? Did you install that beta firmware, other settings?
It feels like the modem (or provider) switches to 4G to save power when there is a data bandwith "idle" threshold met.

I had beta firmware installed and updated to the newest build.
Using this tutorial from gl-inet.
After that, I didn't change any settings to fiddle with the bands.
