X3000 Modem Mode Connection lost after ISP IP renew

Hello everyone,

I own a gl.inet X3000. I use it in modem mode, which is then connected via a LAN cable to a pfSense box. I keep encountering the problem that when the ISP renews the IP address, there is no longer any connection. Neither towards the internet nor towards the modem (X3000). When renewing the IP address, the following log line was noticed: "Thu Oct 23 06:37:01 2025 daemon.notice netifd: modem_0001_4 (10480): udhcpc: sending renew to 0.0.0.0"

Does anyone else have this problem or, better yet, a solution for it? Uboot and firmware are up to date.

Hi @ibit Could you PM me the full router to check?
Please check and ensure the APN is correct.

Hi sir @ibit , I wonder if the X3000 is working in ip passthrough mode?

Hi Cathy, IP passthrough mode works fine. The only problem is the isp ip change.

I’ll send you a beta firmware. Please give it a try.

I've installed the new version. I'm now waiting for the ISP to change the IP address.

Unfortunately, it's an older firmware version. Now the log file is full again, so it can't get an IPv6 address.

I will try to find it but I remember there being a bug in one of the scripts on the X3000. What FM are you using on your X3000 @ibit ?

Edit: found the thread I was thinking of, not sure it applies at all or not

Thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, your description addresses a different problem. For me, it only occurs when the ISP issues a new IP address. Otherwise, the device runs stably. Maybe @Cathy will come up with new information.
