X3000 routing issues

I've got an X3000 and a flint2 (with vanilla openwrt on the flint2 until the backend is in the 24.x range and sqm can work properly), and so far it's a great setup. Wasn't planning on the x3000 until I was told it may fix some of my cellular signal issues my G4AR has (I've been on a few, it was just a poor signal even with waveform antenna) and while my download only improved about 15% my upload more than doubled and to me that makes it worth while to try and finish getting it into working config for my needs. Great job on hardware GLiNet!

Everything is on the flint2 network, nothing on the x3000 other than the single connection to flint2.

I've had no luck at getting the x3000 to have decent sqm for buffer issues but with the flint2 on there, it evens out a lot, while not perfect, it's at a good spot, or I'd try strictly the x3000.

That server has one vm for Plex that is NOT accessible out of the network such as off wifi or at another physical location. I've tried DMZ, port forwarding etc. It does however, work when using the G4AR with the flint2 and I have checked a few times, including before this post.

Ran across one older thread about putting the X3000 into bridge mode, but that results in a cli error and doesn't work. The X3000 is up to date via gui but did update to the stable 4.7.4 GL.iNet download center to be sure.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks, and I apologize for the long explanation, but it should help explain my setup and why.

I don't read you have changed the IP network.

As default the Flint 2 and the Spitz AX are using 193.168.8.0/24. If you connect them in any variation (bridge, repeater, VPN, ...), the networks overlap and you'll get 'funny' side effects.
Please make sure one of the devices is on another, not elsewhere in the LAN used IP Network.

192.168.9.0/24 is also a bad Idea, because this is internally the default guest net.

Hi,

  1. Is the Internet normal for Flint2 other LAN client devices except that server?

  2. Is the Internet normal for X3000?
For example, the phone connects to the X3000 Wi-Fi, and is Internet access works fine?

  3. About SQM run in X3000, have to disable the hardware acceleration first.

Hello Bruce,

  1. Yes internet is normal - server can reach outside network fine as well outside of port forwarding related services.
  2. Yes, all devices connected directly to x3000 reach the internet when first setting up. Since that time the Flint2 is connected directly with all devices on Flint2.
  3. I did disable followed by a reboot however it didn't have any real changes for me (same as on Flint2 prior to flashing with Openwrt when I set that up previously) so I've opted to leave the system at basic set up with nothing outside of what came pre configured except for the Tmobile setup.

Thanks!

I'll give it another go, getting the flint onto the x3000 network to see if that fixes it. Had some issues the other night where I couldn't get them on same network due to x3000 and trying to disable any routing capabilities such as dhcp server. Was aiming to set it up where it acted as a gateway much like bridge mode.

From your first post I assumed you are using the Spitz AX as client in your network. So you just need go to th tab 'Internet' and use the Ethernet at WAN or Repeater as WAN.
The easiest way is to connect the WAN of the Spitz AX to LAN of the WAN of th flint and use two different networks.

Here is a summary of the network modes: Network Mode - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

But in this case all devices connected to the Spitz AX can "see" all connected devices there and reach the devices at the Flint network. All devices at the Flint need portforwarding to reach the Spitz AX devices.

If you want to use all routers in one network, you need to set Accesspoint. Or you don't have a LAN cable and use "Extender". This will deactivate the DHCP and disable the routing and firewalling, because the Flint will do all this.

Please don't confuse the settings. Even if it sounds logic, it won't work.
