X750 Spitz 2.4G Wifi fails after upgrade to 3.203

I upgraded an X750 (V1) to 3.203-0701 and the 2.4Ghz Wifi is no longer working. 5Ghz Wifi works fine. The 2.4Ghz Wifi is enabled in the UI. Turning it on/off has no effect, reboot doesn’t change anything either. Everything thinks it’s working but it’s not actually broadcasting beacons (test with multiple devices).

iwinfo output:

I don’t know whether the firmware loading errors are normal, the last message also looks suspicious.

Relevant sections from /etc/config/wireless:

config wifi-device 'radio1'
        option type 'mac80211'
        option hwmode '11g'
        option band '2G'
        option disabled '0'
        option path 'platform/ahb/18100000.wmac'
        option noscan '0'
        option channel '6'
        option htmode 'HT20'
        option txpower '10'

config wifi-iface 'default_radio1'
        option device 'radio1'
        option network 'lan'
        option mode 'ap'
        option encryption 'psk2'
        option wds '1'
        option ifname 'wlan1'
        option ssid 'xxx-home'
        option key 'xxxxxxxx'
        option disabled '0'

Looks like I may have a hardware failure
I downgraded and wiped the config and still, the 2G wifi doesn’t come up at all.

Is there any ath9k message in the log?

2.4G is aht9k and 5G is ath10k.

Good question, The only ‘ath’ messages that are not ‘ath10k’ are:

If reset the firmware does not fix the problem, maybe 2.4G radio is damaged.

That was my conclusion…
