XE-3000 Firmware

Hello all,

When i look at Firmware Versions - GL.iNet it says the current firmware version for my router is 4.8.2

When i go to GL.iNet download center it says the latest version is 4.7.4

Where can i find the latest update? Currently using 5G as main source of my internet and I see in the snapshot release notes that there are some 5G fixes (my internet drops sometimes when I am gaming, hoping this will make it more reliable)

Thanks in advance for your answer,

Pieter

Hello,

The v4.8.2 was withdrew due to a firmware function issue, so the latest firmware you currently see in GL.iNet download center is v4.7.4.

You can try upgrading to snapshot firmware and see if there is an improvement, and sure, if the network experience of v4.7.4 is more stable, you can also downgrade to v4.7.4.

Regarding the problem of disconnection while playing games, you can execute the command to check the network status at the same time during the game (if playing on PC):

ping www.google.com
ping [router LAN IP] #Like, ping 192.168.8.1

Forgive my curiosity, but what was the issue with 4.8.2? I’ve been running it for a couple of months and it’s been the most stable firmware I’ve ran on my X3000.

that it wasnt available to download.

But 4.8.3 has been released and so far no more intermittent connection drops so lets hope it stays this way!

Based on the 589 posts in the 4.8.x firmware thread I’m guessing there were many issues.

Edit: I did not read the thread so the above is an assumption. Per Bruce it appears that the thread was mostly based on questions and comments regarding new functions.

It is basically a discussion of some new functions.

Please feel free to use latest firmware and don't care about the number of replies of that thread!
