Hello, I have a big problem with my flint 2, I have a Xiaomi air purifier 4, but it does not connect to WiFi in any way, with another router it works.
The other devices I have at home all connect without problems.
The firmware is 4.7.0-op24
Tell us more.
What frequency?
Any long said or non ASCII in name?
Can we assume other clients connect?
Is mac address acl on unit?
In range?
2.4 Ghz, the air purifier support this only frequency
The SSID has a simple name followed by a dash "-" and some numbers
Yes, other clients are connecting
No ACL
The purifier is half a meter from the router
What kind of WiFi encryption do you use? (WPA, WPA2 or WPA3)
I read that the Air Purifier only support WPA or WPA2.
Further you can try an different WiFi Mode.
The purifier also supports WPA3, I know this because with a fritzbox set to WPA3 it works and the purifier hooks up using that.
I am using WPA2/wPA Mixed mode, just like I do with the FritzBox
Well on on FAQ on the manufacturer site it stated that only WPA and WPA2 is supported, but maybe that information is outdated.
And with WiFi mode I mean this: 802.11 b, g, n, ax (https://192.168.8.1/#/wireless)
But I think you should play with some settings maybe look for enabled advanced features etc. Since no else here seems to have the same device you are trying to connect we can't really help you I think.
Best thing you can do if you can't figure it out is contact Xiaomi support and ask there if they know any issues with OpenWrt and that device.
Ok it seems that with the firmware 4.7.4 with the proprietary MTK drivers, always using the same WiFi settings the purifier connects, so it could be a problem with the mt76 drivers
My mom had a TV that would act similar. I would have to forget network on TV then reconnect.
I solved it by setting the WiFi to WPA3 only and disabling PMF, it seems that it is the latter that causes problems, but the strange thing is that with WPA3 and PMF enabled with firmware 4.7.4 and the fritzbox connects without problems.
Have you tried guest WiFi 2.4 GHz? Double check to make sure work properly
I don't use the Guest network yet, so I don't know.
In the end, for now I solved it using WPA2 without PMF
