4.9 firmware release model(s) support?

Supported Models: GL-BE9300 (Flint 3), GL-MT5000 (Brume 3), GL-BE6500 (Flint 3e), GL-BE3600 (Slate 7), GL-MT3600BE (Beryl 7), GL-MT6000 (Flint 2).

As of right now im tracking the firmware for the devices above based off this link https://dl.gl-inet.com/

I have seen some discussions around phase released for other models but no official word from the company what exact model(s) will be in those phases. Can gl inet put something out for the consumers regarding what devices will get 4.9 regarding the phase released?

Please refer to the link you quoted for confirmation of the devices that are already planned to receive the v4.9 release.

Other models are still under planning, but at the moment we do not have a specific list or many additional details to share.

The estimated timeline was based on the upgrade workload assessment for the first batch of devices.

Therefore, devices in later batches may arrive a bit later.

There is still no specific timeline we can share at the moment.

We will most likely first release the stable versions for models with available beta firmware, such as the BE9300 (complete) and BE3600 (ongoing), before beginning work on the Beryl 7 and Brume 3.

It's pretty disappointing that the Brume 3 still doesn't have a timeline yet. It's actually one of my favorite new devices from GL.iNet! I really want to see 4.9 soon, hopefully not the end of the summer.

Due to the nature of software development, issues that impact usability may be discovered at various stages of the firmware release process, and additional time may be required to investigate and fix them. Because of this, we are unable to provide a firm release timeline.

That said, if everything goes as planned, we expect the BE6500 to receive the v4.9.x firmware update during Q3.

In addition, I believe the Beta program you mentioned refers to pre-launch product testing, rather than software testing.

By default, all of our beta firmware releases are published in our Download Center and are available for anyone to download and test.

hello, i just returned the Gl-MT3000 as it was running ancient OpenWrt 21.02.

now, i purchased GL-MT3600BE Beryl 7, upgraded the firmware to 4.9.0 and i find it is running the same ancient “Firmware Version OpenWrt 21.02-SNAPSHOT / LuCI openwrt-21.02 branch git-23.093.57360-e98243e”

what is going on?

Hi,

We are sorry that the Beryl 7 firmware did not meet your expectations regarding the underlying OpenWrt version.

Development and evaluation of firmware based on a newer OpenWrt version are currently in progress, including the newer SDK recently provided by MediaTek.
A Beryl 7 firmware based on the MediaTek OpenWrt 25 SDK is planned for a future release.
