Beta Firmware for New Features – Advanced network function realized by DPI

Thanks.

We have reproduced this issue, if upgrade the firmware with keep settings, this one configuration parameters have not been matched, since some codes have not been merged from the mainline changes.

Pass, thanks broh :call_me_hand:

H…… naaaaa

Just installed 4.8.3-op24 beta1 and my Flint2 never felt this snappy/smooth and powerful :call_me_hand:

This firmware version is a first small-scale functional test.
Once the current firmware expires, only DPI-related features will be affected to unavailable, and just looks like to standard firmware version.

Sure, we will have a second-round functional test after further develop and improve the DPI features.

With the increasing number of apps/websites and the frequent updates to content and features, maintaining the DPI feature database is essential. Otherwise, it's like rowing upstream: if you don't move forward, you'll fall behind.

Waiting for the second-round update test firmware, we will extend the license for a certain period, after solving the collected bugs and optimizing the experience in first test.

This current test feature is only tested for a period of time and will stop beta after it is relatively stable. This will then be added with the standard firmware in v4.9, and the same applies to other models — depending on their hardware capabilities and performance.

I cannot currently guarantee the release time of v4.9, assume probably be in Mid-2026.

This feature, which is currently under testing, will be provided free of charge in the official release!

Running on v1.0 for now. This is just for testing.
We'll be evaluating whether to move to v1.5 or 2.0. Thanks!

  1. I connected to both 5Ghz and MLO, the results are about the same.
  2. I test Wi-Fi connection with Pixel 7 Pro, Macbook Pro M1, iPhone 11
  3. All my tests are SLOW in UL speed, NOT DL speed.
  4. Wire connection is normal (around 935Mb/s DL/UL in 1Gb/1Gb PPPoE line)

P.S: “Data Statistics” and “QoS(DL/UL is configured as 900Mb/900Mb)” are enabled

Thanks.

Amazing work team :+1:

It has been reproduced on my BE9300, will submit to R&D.
Thanks for this info!

When will flint 1 be tested?

Could you implement sqm with cake autorate? I’ve a 5G connection. @admins

Enabiling Content Protection also enables a default block list as stated in the tooltip.

“When enabled, your router automatically blocks adult, gambling, and malicious websites, creating a clean, safe online environment for your family. “

I believe there should be another quick toggle that enables or disabled the current default “family blocklist” in its current state there is no way to have fine control of what is deemed allowed or blocked as the “family protection” has to be enabled otherwise we can't control what apps to block.

Hello, when using the Flint 2 running this new beta firmware the new sqm page has a problem where the upload and download values are swapped. For example your download speed needs to be set in the upload box.

Where are the current data statistics being stored, on the device or on glinet servers? I guess the question applies with DPI, is this being done remotely too, if so where is our data stored, how does it know to relay the information back to the client / router, are there client indentifiers here? Basically how do the new features stand from a privacy prospective?

Also, it would be nice if there was a option to purge / clear data statistics.

Are you using SQM on WiFi – this is to be expected

Hello,

Sorry to bother you.
Please help us to do a test to confirm that the issue is a problem with the qos component.

Please disable QOS, SQM and other related functions.

  1. Run a speedtest on the wireless client. Is the UL and DL speed normal?
  2. Limit the speed of a certain wireless client (GL GUI > Clients > Limit Speed). For example, UL and DL are both 1024000 KB/s

Run the speedtest again, is only the UL speed lower?

Flint1 will not participating in testing at the moment. Sorry. Please wait for standard firmware v4.9 (or 5.0).

It seems that cake autorate is not included in the openwrt repo, but can only be installed manually.

We are not sure about their compatibility, so let's evaluate it first.

Is it this project?
