Brume 2 hardware acceleration bug / slow speed

Hi, I'm using my Brume 2 as my main router. It's connected to an ONT.

Since the latest firmware update (I updated 2 days ago to v4.6.4) I started to encounter internet speeds of 0.1Mbs (If have 600mb FTTH which always worked.) Ping was working but websites loading terribly slowly. It took me two days to figure out what the issue was. From my ISP I get DHCP and my wan vlan is 20. Great that we can add this to the UI nowadays!

  • Tried to check all cables > no issues found
  • I tried to connect the original ISP router and replace the brume > everything worked fine again.
  • I checked memory/load > all fine
  • Restarted everything (router, switches, etc) > no luck
  • Tried my old Brume 1 I still had lying around > everything was working at full speed again like the ISP router!
  • I ran all kernel/sys logs through ChatGPT > no clear results
  • Tried to Reset firmware on Brume 2 > still unusable slow internet. So at this point I thought it's an hardware issue in my Brume 2 or a firmware issue and it's not any of my custom settings or plugins/applications.

Randomly, I saw Hardware Acceleration was turned on and to test, I turned this OFF. And surprisingly, everything started working again. Note that this was on a clean / reset firmware where I only added my WAN VLANID 10 under Internet settings. I restored my setting, left Hardware Acceleration off and everything is working again. When I turn it on again, internet speed drops to 0.1Mbs (unusable).

Can someone point me in the right direction as to why this is happening? It caused a bit of disruption when internet is not working as it was not clear that this was the issue and probably caused by the firmware update? Thanks for your help!

Hi,

How to know the 0.1Mbps? speedtest.net?

Please test if the WAN without (not input, empty) that VLAN ID, will the speed be normal?

Did you not have this problem before the firmware update?
