Currently I would like to buy an comet pro, the only problem i have or saw is that currently you can’t pass through your Camera from an Macbook/Laptop.
I have a few devices from clients for different projects and want to manage them on one device via kvm. (Developer)
Is it Possible when do you would release an official beta with this feature ?
I'm curious about your phrasing. You should be able to see the Macbook's camera ("pass through your Camera from an Macbook/Laptop"), but if you're looking to pass through the camera on the system you're physically local to as another device on the system the Comet is connected to that's a different story.
In other words, if you're connecting the Comet to a laptop and want to view the laptop's camera that should work today. If you want to initiate a video chat on the laptop but use the camera on the computer in front of you that's a different story.
The camera passthrough feature for the RM10 is expected to be released this month or next.
Please note that this is a tentative timeline—actual release dates may vary.
We'll be sure to announce it once it's officially available!
This is great! Is there a beta firmware testing program? Was gonna emulate a webcam on a raspberry pi alongside my KVM and connect thag over wifi as well, but a one-device solution would be so much simpler!
Will the webcam passthrough work on GL-RM1PE or jus the CL-RM10
I am debating on which to purchase as I will be using several I need 3 for now to hook up to multiple laptops I will store in a server closet and I will need Camera/Audio passthrough on them from my main device.
Also will the passthrough work through the web interface or only in the GL App? I use Linux for my main desktop and I see you only support Mac and Windows so I would need to use the web portal it seems.
The webcam passthrough feature will be rolled out gradually on all KVM devices except the GL-RM1. So yes, it will work on the GL-RM1PE, GL-RM10, and other newer models
The webcam passthrough feature will be supported on both the GL App and the web interface, so you'll be able to use it through the browser on your Linux desktop without any issue.
