I'm considering purchasing the Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) model, but I have the requirement to support for EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol). I came across a previous post that mentioned EAP support was under development and available in beta releases, but I haven't seen any recent updates on this.
I took a quick look at the release notes, but couldn't find any explicit mention of EAP support. I'd like to get a definitive answer before making a purchase.
Can anyone confirm whether the Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) currently supports EAP, or if it's still in development? Are there any plans for an upcoming update that will include EAP support?
I'd appreciate any information or clarification on this matter. Thanks in advance for your help!
Ah okay, thanks for the reply. Can you clear something up for me as I was always a little confused.
I was under the impression that the "4.x.x-opxx" versions where actually the official plain openwrt firmware files but looking again through the forums it's seems to suggest that it is indeed the same glinet gui and features but just with a different driver, is that correct? What is so different that it requires it's own builds?
Because some advanced users want to install some plugins they need in the op24 firmware, and in some users' scenario / network environments, the wireless connection stability of open-source drivers will be better.
But some users have also mentioned that they use closed-source driver firmware and wireless stability will be better. Varies by environment.
