eSIM Management menu missing (Mudi V2)

Previously I was running Firmware v4.3.19 on my Mudi V2, and the "eSIM Management" menu was accessible under Applications.

I have since updated to the latest Firmware v4.3.25 and the "eSIM Management" menu is now missing.

Is this a bug introduced in the new firmware version? How can I access this menu? What is the URL extension for the eSIM Management menu?

Hello Boardies

I'm having the same problem with three devices.
After updating to v4.3.25, the eSIM Management app disappeared on all three devices.
Downgrading to v4.3.19 or 21 also didn't work.

Are there any solutions available?

Best regards, Anyone

Add me as another who lost eSim application on the upgrade to 4.3.25.

Like others have stated, downgrading to 4.3.21 did not restore it.

Loading the beta 4.3.19 did bring the app back.

Further, these releases do not seem to have the captive portal login feature. I miss that one very much.

Same issue

Hello Boardies

Today I experimented a bit and downgraded to firmware v4.3.19 .

The “eSIM Management” tab has reappeared on two of my three devices. However, the EIOT eSIMs can no longer be selected in the seed profile.

Also, the status of the card, such as ICCID and traffic, is no longer displayed in the seed profile.
It only says “Ready” there.

One added eSIM from Deutsche Telekom can be selected, the second from O2 / Telefonica is no longer available.

However, they are still visible in the EIOT app but can no longer be activated.

Do I now have to buy two new physical EIOT eSIMs and reorder my eSIMS and download and install them again or is there another option?

Hope for help

No Help ?? ;-(

Currently, none of the stable releases in our firmware download center include eSIM functionality. Version v4.3.23 is a special version specifically developed and designed for eSIM. Since v4.3.23 is not yet stable, the subsequent versions v4.3.25 and v4.3.27 were based on the latest stable version at the time, v4.3.18.

Now, given the growing number of users adopting eSIM, we are committed to integrating this feature into future stable releases.

Hi @Anyone If the esim profile has been installed but is not functioning properly, please check whether the esim profile has expired.
If this esim requires a special APN, pls configure it through cellular manual Setup mode, and then see if you can connect to the network.

Any updates on this yet? I’ll be doing extensive travel in the near future and plan on using eSIMs.

It would have been incredibly frustrating if I had already begun using an eSIM on this device, only to update the firmware and then lose the eSIM functionality, and therefore no Internet Access.

Hi,

The current eSIM features in GL cellular router has been stable.

If need it, you can buy a Mudi v2 to experience global cellular network with eSIM.

I already have the Mudi v2 running the latest stable firmware release, but the “eSIM Manage” menu is not showing.

Edit: I’ve just updated to the latest beta version and I can see the eSIM Manage menu now, but I didn’t realise I have to purchase a separate physical SIM card. The modem in this device should be able to use an eSIM natively, or so I thought…

Hello,

The supported "eSIM" have to use with GL eSIM card (a physical card and it is able to customize modify the profile).

You can purchase a GL eSIM in online store.

Does it work without the physical eSIM card? I'm looking to buy a digital esim and install it.

It requires to insert a physical GL eSIM first, then import the digital profile.

Hi,

Is there any resolution on this? I'm facing the same problem. Without upgrading or changing anything, the esim option just disappeared from the application menu.

After trying to upgrade to the latest version, then to the 4.3.21 again (http://download.gl-inet.com/firmware/e750/esim), and also trying 4.3.18 and 4.3.19, as some users suggest, nothing helps. The physical esim is correctly inserted, I did reinsert it, rebooted, etc. Nothing helps.

This is really frustrating as I need this for work and I'm now faced with no internet connectivity. This is core function and without esim this router has no use for me...

Really appreciate your help here .

Hello,

  1. Please upgrade the firmware to v4.3.26 for Mudi v2.
    GL.iNet download center

  2. May I know what eSIM card you insert to the router, is it EIOT Club?

Hi Bruce, thanks for the reply.

  1. I've already tried upgrading to the latest version (GL.iNet download center) that is available in the upgrade section. Is this a different version?

  1. Yes. eSIM - GL.iNet physical eSIM | Free 1GB for US/EU and 100MB global Dat

Edit 1/7: just to emphasize, I did not change any settings, no upgrade, or any changes made. The esim just stopped being visible:

  1. I was connecting to the internet using the Cellular mode (esim).
  2. On a different trip I've switched to Repeater mode.
  3. And now I wanted to use the esim again so I've switched to Cellular mode but the esim option is gone.

Again, during all this time I did not change anything to the settings. The only thing I did was to switch from Cellular mode to Repeater mode, and then again to Cellular mode.

Edit 2/8: I've just upgraded from GL.iNet download center

The esim option is not visible, despite the physical esim being correctly detected (I've removed it multiple times with no effect):

Again, I want to emphasise that the only thing was to switch from the Cellular mode to Repeater mode, and then again to Cellular mode. After the switch the esim was gone from the application. No changes were made.

Can you please help?

Hi @michael4

The SIM card is PIN-locked, preventing the router from reading the correct eSIM information. As a result, the eSIM management page cannot be displayed properly.

Pls click on "Manual Setup" to the settings page, enter the correct PIN code and restart the cellular connection to try
