Hello @bruce. The eSIM is from Airalo; I was able to use it without a PIN before the eSIM Management page disappeared. The Internet page does not show anything out of the ordinary - the network appears connected, though the eSIM card is out of data allowance.
Here's the output of the curl command:
89044045116727494800000012426091|89852350625150379723
I have a Mudi V2 with the recommended version of firmware and the Gl eSIM installed as well. But none of the telecommunication services in India or Vietnam seem to work with this. I got a solution of configuring the eSIM on my iPhone and copy the IMEI to Mudi with some scripts. It would be better if I can get the Gl eSIM to take on the local service providers tariff than use a stand in device.
Sorry for the problem. Your Airola eSIM ICCID prefix is the same as GL.iNet SIM ICCID prefix, causing the router to mistakenly identify them as regular cards. As a result, the eSIM menu disappears.
This is an issue that will be fixed in future version. I’ve sent you a beta firmware that has fixed the problem. Please check the message and give it a try
This might be due to the limitation of the network operator. It only allows certified devices to be connected to the network. Suggested to consult with service provider
Is GL eSIM not certified? some kinda forcing the customer to only choose the providers GL partners with? What is needed if I put a vanilla OpenWRT without GL customization / front end?
This menu has just completely disappeared. I’m on 0326release1.
I’ve tried resetting the firmware but the menu option isn’t there. Any ideas on what I can do to get it back? Using the EIOT SIM card from your store. Need to change the eSIM profile quite urgently and can’t do it any longer
The device should work in India or Vietnam. We've received some feedbacks that GL.iNet router is compatible with the local network operator, such as the JIO India.
Maybe your esim service or data plan has specific restriction. Mostly the restriction is related to the modem module. So switching to vanilla openwrt may not be helpful.
I spoke to Airtel and Jio in India. Both of them said the Gl.iNet eSIM was not compatible with their service. In Vietnam I spoke to Viettel and Mobifone and the same issue here too...
Hello,
I just got a Mudi V2 and I have the same issue. No eSIM management page.
The device got shipped with a newer firmware version than the one on your website. Factory reset performed.
I installed the older 4.3.26 but with no luck.
What can I do to try to fix it?
Thank you! @Cathy
