Fancy new Mudi 7

Seems like early birds are all sold out now.

Why is eSIM not mentioned in the user guide? GL-E5800 (Mudi 7) - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

Because it's the same procedure for all eSIM compatible devices: eSIM Management - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

No matter if there is an internal eSIM chip or you bought a physical eSIM.

@neuen I assume to know what product you talk about, you might be right. But so far from what I read they still struggle to fix some serious bugs - has been announced more than a year ago! And if you read even specs have changed in the meantime. It was announced with 5.95 GB/s maximum download speed and now it is 5.15 GB/s. So will it ever hit the market is a pretty open question.

Got a US version super early bird last night.

N41/77/78 bands support can basically cover 5G coverage in urban around the world. But lacking of N79 support is a little bit disappointing. I am wondering if there would be a “Mudi 7 Pro” in the future to have X75 modem to have full 4G/5G broadband support like ZTE U60 Pro.

The X72 has been confirmed.
Other information is still pending confirmation from the relevant partners, who may not respond soon.

But not a word about this in the user guide? eSIM is mentioned in all other eSIM compatible user guides. Interface guide’s eSIM Management does not mention Mudi 7 in Supported Models: eSIM Management - GL.iNet Router Docs 4

Just not updated yet. Trust me, it supports eSIM. I heard it somewhere

Yes, the Mudi 7 have built-in eSIM support.
We haven't had time to update all the documentation yet.

I searched for the major 5G bands used in different countries including Japan, Korea, China, India, French, UK and US. N41/77/78 bands are the widely used by different carriers.

The major difference between US and EU version is that EU version supports N1/28 which helps to get a better 5G coverage in rural area.

Let’s take 5G bands in Korea as an example. First, I check 5G bands available in Korea on website like frequencycheck.com or spectrum-tracker, find that N78 are operated by 3 major carriers. Second, I google any possible news and benchmark results for N78 broadband in Korea, I find some speedtest screenshots and comments on the N78 performance in certain Korea cities. The search result is the same for 5G in France. In Japan and China, N77/78 are the major 5G bands for carriers. You can also search the result simply with AI.

When will reviews of the Mudi 7 be shown? There have been beta testers since December. When will those reviews be available?

I'm curious about the heat during operation; the Beryl 7 already gets very warm, but it has an active cooler which counteracts this.

Do you guys plan to sell screen protectors or TS9 antennas? When can we buy them?

Mudi 7 does not heat at all. I put it in my bag and use it all the time without problem.

Nice to hear. I‘m excited to Test my Mudi :heart_hands:

Thank you for sharing such exciting news!
Yes:

I think it will, future products will certainly include higher-end/newer modem, but the Mudi 7 has just been released, so a newer Mudi won't be coming that soon.

I expect reviews will come a bit later.

We still have many test items to do, and after that the beta testers will need to shoot videos and organize the footage.
I believe they'll present this impressive Mudi 7 in even better videos.
