Firmware V2.21, 2.22 Road warriors, WISP repeater auto connect

It looks like when the VPN is disabled from gui, any configured down scripts do not work.

I have up and down scripts that control the LEDs so i can visibly see the status of the vpn so I’d like to have this working. Can we change the behavior of the way the gui stops/kills the vpn?

I’ve done a bit of testing with 2.23.3 and 2.23.6 on my GL-MT300A. I really like the new UI changes for WISP connections, but I’ve had two consistent problems that I wasn’t seeing with 2.20:

  1. The connection from my laptop to the WISP (LAN side) keeps dropping. It is as if the radio is momentarily stopping and then coming back. When this happens my PC usually switches to a different AP.
  2. I've tried two different VPN services but have not been able to establish any OpenVPN connections. This was working for me with 2.20 so I'm not sure what the change is.
I'd be glad to provide better details and do more research if needed, but I wanted to ask if there are known issues there, and anything I can try. I didn't erase my settings when upgrading, and I'd prefer not to if possible but I will if necessary to fix this. What can I try?

Also one other question: I’ve customized the various button scripts (BTN_0, BTN_1, reset, LED configuration) but of course those are overwritten by an upgrade and lost completely. Is there a filesystem location you would suggest where files like this can be preserved during upgrades? Preferrably these customizations could persist between versions (maybe have the default scripts look for an override script and call it when it exists?).

Thanks for any advice or assistance, and keep up the great work!

@AxrBro, I do not think I would run both wifiMGR and the GLi tools together. I think that under some circumstances that they might bump into each other, say if one is in the process of changing a STAtion and the other one begins it’s check. The second tool may see no station and begin it’s STAtion change process.

Please explain your annoyances issue back on the original thread. I occasionally have an issue and get 169.254.xxx.xxx addresses.

@RangerZ

I ended up just going GLI Gui … it seems to be pretty stable. However, I think my VPN speed was much faster under the clean gui + wifiMGR.

Hopefully the AR one that I have enroute speeds things up a bit

Well looks like this FW is no good - my trusty MT-300A just died. It got really hot yesterday - I was a at a location where there were no known APs - so it kept searching and I believe eventually overheated.

At first power light was on while wan and wifi lights were slow blinking. I attempted a hard reset by holding down the reset button. Now, I see just power, the other lights arent on. When connected via Lan cable, computer does not get an IP address.

is this bricked or do i have any options?

SOLVED! I set manual IP on my computer - and was able to get into failsafe on the router … re-upped firmware and bam! right back t gli gui.

Was scared for a minute.

Hi Alfie any change log for the new firmware?
