4.5.4 is in beta folder
It is now…New version…Just posted this in the MEET FLINT2 thread…
Something is definitely wrong with the 2.4GHz wifi, not sure how they are advertising it as Max. 1148 Mbps (2.4GHz).
I just updated to firmware 4.5.4 and have 1.5gbs fiber. On 5ghz i’m getting 1400mbps and on 2.4ghz i’m only getting ~40mbps right next to router (testing on Samsung S23 and a laptop).
Has anyone been able to get speeds greater than 100mbps on 2.4ghz? If so what settings do you use?
I have 300Mbps on 2.4ghz only with laptop, using a new wifi 6 board. On any Android device I got no more than 120Mbps. Of course I force the 40Mhz channel width.
I explained it here Flint 2 - poor WiFi speed? - #6 by wrt but I think there is an issue with Wi-Fi mode of ax. I had to use the 11a/n/ac and my speed is now around 500mb.
I’m not so sure, since AX performs far better for me on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
Maybe someone could ask owners of the Redmi AX6000 or TP-Link XDR-6086 if they could perform speed tests? Of course they’d need a 150MB+ broadband package, but if they’ve got that then they’d just need to connect to the 2.4GHz radio from an older Android phone or laptop.

Both of these routers have the same CPU and WiFi chips as the GL-MT6000.
I’m having this exact same issue but do not have guest networks enabled, only private networks with encryption.
More problems with 2.4ghz:
Using it as a repeater for a 300Mbps internet (5GHz - 5GHz), at 2.4ghz on the PC (wifi 6 card) it does not exceed 60Mbps
Using as Tethering with the cell phone, internet also at 300Mbps, at 2.4ghz on the PC (wifi 6 card) it does not exceed 20Mbps
The 2.4ghz speed only really reaches 300Mbps with a cable connected to wan port.
I wonder if its a hardware problem, i will try my second Flint 2 later.
No,
1 normal, 1 guest per Wi-Fi band.
Did you update to beta or was it already like this?
I was prompted to update the firmware when I logged into device. I did not notice if it said it was beta(?) . It does not say it is beta anywhere and I had not changed to a beta firmware. And looking on download center it says this version is stable
Seems odd to me. Maybe it’s a bug, maybe not.
I would reflash the current 4.5.4 from the download center just to make sure nothing is broken.
I updated to 4.5.4 release 4 this morning and now Adguardhome isn’t working - it just fails to load? anyone else had this issue?
Did you try to set 5Ghz to 80MHZ? I had some better experience with that but my upload speed is limited to 16Mbit with this option.
For me, it’s working with the same 4.5.4 firmware version.
I should of said i updated adguardhome to the latest version - don’t usually have a problem when i update but this time i did.
I ended up resetting and starting again and all is well now.
Never ever update packages in luci in upgrades section as many of tools have a lot of core dependencies and one day you will be unable to boot the device/access the router.
I agree but they really need to ensure they have a newer version of Adguardhome in the next release - this is one of the things that frustrates my about GLi net - although in previous version they have allowed AdGuardHome to update on it’s own. Now they have started adding in --no-check-update into the /etc/init.d/adguardhome file
Didn’t work for me. Neither did the update. Issue seems like it’s gotten worse actually. Pretty upsetting and surprising that gl-inet didn’t extensively test this product before releasing it.
