Flint 3 (GL-BE9300) Discussion Thread

Yep think I'll do the same. It appears Flint 2 is better option in my opinion.

That is pushing it a bit, I would say.

I told you so.
Now you agree with me that something is wrong with this router, with the WiFi?
Try restarting it until it works fine with WiFi.
Additionally, it's a good idea to put it higher than the Flint 2. :upside_down_face:
I don't understand how such a device can be released.
On top of that, zero firmware updates despite the many reported issues with the device.
This is embarrassing. :poop:

I'm yet to discover the exact truth behind this statement  But maybe it's "polished enough" comparing to the current state of Flint3

Yes, this is because after hard acceleration is enabled, the message bypasses NAT, causing port forwarding to fail. It has been submitted to the team for inspection.

I have to agree, indeed something is not right here. Rebooting helps, as you said. But well, that is not solution.

they use the super early bird users as a beta tester and I think they are committed to complete 4.8.0 for other model like flint 2.
that's why we have for now poor support on flint 3. anyway I ask for a return, luckily i didn't trow away my flint 2...

Would you both consider doing everyone a favor and returning the router?
I find it increasingly difficult to deal with the tone of your messages, which often come across as impolite and unnecessarily harsh.

Of course, there are still several issues that need to be addressed—no question about that. But in my experience, the GL.iNet team is generally very committed to improving the firmware and fixing problems over time.

There’s definitely space for constructive criticism, and it’s welcome. But the way you're currently expressing your frustration feels more like finger-pointing and personal attacks, which doesn't help anyone and only creates more tension.

Point out to me exactly where my messages are impolite?
Reporting problems with the device is unnecessary harshness?
Where am I attacking anyone personally?
I think you are confused about something.
Moreover, how about I decide what to do with my money and stuff?

fly down and keep calm mainufer.
We pay this router with real money and since NO ONE of GL.INET staff reply to us about wifi issue we can speak about our disappointment in this free world.
Bruce and other staff member completely IGNORE US without a reply.
If you like to use a downgrade product sold as "high end router" it's your problem.
I return this flint 3 for sure and I still be able to be free with my opinion.
Regards.

I wonder if you have got any further with AdGuard Updates.

Imo. The new flagship router shouldve had atleast 4.8 ready to go for it. Using old software on a new device doesnt make sense to me. I put my flint 3 in the closet for now. And wifi is way slower which we already know.

I bought 2 flint3 to replace my aging orbi rbk50. (with openwrt installed of course)
the routers landed yesterday;
set one as master in floor 1, one as satelite with wds on 2nd floor.
wtf, it perform much worse...lol
jackpot...

i guess time will tell..if its get better a.k.a finewine or not.
if not, this is the last time I bought GL stuff.

I have brume2, beryl-ax, and I'm very satisfied with both. But this, this is trash, really.

about wifi7 6ghz, I have PC with intel be200 and the wifi 6ghz not showing, don't know whats wrong, so I cant test 6ghz

Maybe this is a bug with intel cards?
same for me with AX210, I fix this installing and older driver.... 6ghz show up and working.

I had this issue with wifi 6 too, make sure channel is set to auto and try all the different mhz freq's to see if it eventually shows up, it worked on 320 for me for a short while, but then gave up and I had to switch it to 160mhz and channel auto for it to come back

Anyone have issues with nlbwmon on the Flint 3? It is not working as expected for me. Just wondering.

I guess you'll need to wait 12-18 months until the OpenWrt community makes a compatible firmware for it.

I have problem to detect the 6Ghz, what can i do??
Both iphone 16 only can success connect to 2.4g & 5g, however both iphone cant detect 6Ghz, and my pc is using intel BE200, also cant detect 6Ghz.

iphone with IOS18.5
Any tips and help, please, thank you

Agree. This is ridiculous. Qualcomm's CPUs are not as strong as MediaTek so you really need the HW acceleration to make this router viable. @bruce your "C" level guys should be all over Qualcomm about this disaster. What is happening to fix all these Qualcomm related problems?

Usually with Qualcomm aslong they keep using QSDK they can have hardware acceleration, or atleast they call it 'NSS offloading', for normal OpenWrt unlikely that this feature can be supported, and also because it will likely take a enormously time for general OpenWrt support.

If the feature is not there, then it is extra strange, maybe then it is either for GL to fix or Qualcomm.
