GL-MT3000 as wired AP with GL-MT6000

Hello,

I want to use my GL-MT3000 as wired AP to extend my WiFi signal at home. On my GL-MT3000 I have 3 separate WiFi SSIDs and each SSID is on own Network, as example:

  • Home - 192.168.8.0/24
  • Guest - 192.168.9.0/24
  • IoT - 192.168.10.0/24

Now the question is, which steps I need to do to get all 3 SSIDs also on my GL-MT3000 AP? …and the GL-MT6000 shoud be the “only” DHCP server!
Can you please help me?

Hi,

You can connect one LAN port of the MT6000 directly to the MT3000 using an Ethernet cable. The link between the two routers can be configured as a VLAN trunk carrying your Home, Guest, and IoT networks.
The MT6000 can remain the main router and DHCP server for these networks, while the MT3000 only bridges each VLAN to the corresponding Wi-Fi SSID.
