GL-MT300N-V2 with Ralink tech wireless-N USB adapter

Hi, Can I insert the Ralink tech wireless-N USB adapter outdoor Wifi Rocket into the GL-MT300N-V2 USB port and connect to me home wifi signal 150 ft from my home modem? Basically I want the rocket to amplify the signal to the MT300. if yes, how is this done. Thanks for any help or advise …

MT300N-V2 has a MTK proprietary wifi driver. It may not work well with your external wifi stick.

Other models should work with old 3070 and 8187 wifi stick.

Hi Alzhao

Thanks for your answer. The unit is the Ralink RT3070 Max Distance Outdoor Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter IEEE802.11b/g/n Antenna High Gain Wifi Rocket USB Adapter With 9Dbi 5M USB Cable. what do you mean other old models should work with a 3070 wifi stick, can you recommend any?

Thanks you

AR150, AR300M, AR750 etc can support RT3070.

MT300N-V2 may have problems.

Thanks Alzhao, just to check, what setting should the MT300N-V2 be set too. should it be bridge mode or default. I was expecting to simply plug into the USB port and use as tethering.

Your advise has been much appreciated

Could you try this with V2? I’m thinking of ordering the same antenna.
