Hello all,
I would like to know what are the recommended steps for switching from GL.iNet OEM firmware to OpenWrt, from the OEM webUI or u-boot bootloader?
Please also specify which file should be used for both variants, sysupgrade.bin or factory.bin?
The idea is that I would like to find out what is the healthiest procedure for this update firmware!
keep gl uboot. because it is easier to recover as it has a webui
always use sysupgrade.bin
If you need to go back or a softbrick occurs, restore according to the tutorial on the gl website to recover using uboot.
Edit: In fact, I even recommend installing pure OpenWRT using uboot, it is safer against errors and provides a CLEAN installation
