GL-MV1000 (Brume) OpenWRT 22

Not even a beta, just a snapshot.

it’s stable enough to test around in my experience so far.

Now not even the snapshot is available :expressionless:

The wait is frustrating, and buying another device just for the latest firmware features is just a waste.
I still have multiple clients that use the Brume and prefer not to toss it out.
I recently installed a Flint AX1800 at a client’s site and was super happy with the newer firmware, but had it in the back of my mind, that it is only a matter of time before they drop support for it in favor of Flint2.

This is normal for the tech world. Look at phones and even TVs.

Either they get updates until x years or they lack any updates.

Best to get a newer device.

Pls check. MV1000 4.3.8 beta1 is on GL.iNet download center

Ha, a week after I finally built my first custom OpenWRT image for Brume 1, nice timing

I’m hoping to get a Brume 2 soon, if I do, I’ll find some other way to use the Brume 1 and beta test 4.x with it. I already have a use case in mind.

I miss my Brume. If you wanna sell it, let me know. @glinoob

I just upgraded one of my MV-1000s to 4.3.8 today and so far it’s working well. VPN bypass policy is functional again, that was my biggest pain point of the 3.216 release, could not get that to work.

Is there wifi support in 4.3.8 beta1 for GL-MV1000W?

I’d hate to update only to find out my wifi is gone (as I did with 4.2.2).

4.3.8 beta1 firmware does not support wifi

Thanks.

Can you give more insights on the reason wifi support is persistently missing in 4.x.x?

Hi. Long time user of Brume 1 here. (it is my main router).
beta 1 as of end of September 2023, is there a timeline when v 4.x (stable) will be released? Is still the plan to support v4 ?
Thanks!
