I totally agree with your statement! Last night I spent many hours troubleshooting the endless loop til @ywp hinted me !
Why set it to usb mode?
usb mode has a lower speed compared to pcie mode
True it’s very slow - I was testing QMI and MBIM on a vanilla OpenWRT. Both are slower than QCM.
Can you help me to install the pci_mhi driver and qcm tool on a plain openwrt ?
By the way, what does Apple iPhone use as modem protocol for their Qualcomm modem? I noticed the speed has doubled from 800 mbps to 1.3 Gbps when I moved the same SIM from my x3000 to an iPhone !!
Unless it's an older iPhone it's going to have a much newer and faster Qualcomm modem and CPU than the x62 modem in the X3000. The newer iPhones can combine at least three 5G bands where the x62 can only do two. My iPhone 15 Pro Max gets as high as 1Gbps on T-mobile where standing at the same location outside the X3000 will top out around 550Mbps on the TMHI.
Hopefully we get some newer faster 5G modems in gateways soon.
I removed the pcie mode detection in the next firmware version
It should be 4.4.10
I'm sorry. I probably don't have much free time for this
I see no 4.4.10 as a snapshot available yet in the software download page..... any idea when it comes?
Great
thanks
It’s ok - I am compiling the pcie_mhi driver as well as Quectel CM in Openwrt. If I get stuck I might ask for help ![]()
