Very often it loses mobile data connection or to be precise, the modem is not available anymore.
I need to restart the router, then it works again for some hours or days.Usually rather hours than days.
There are two SIM cards installed, one for Germany (O2) and one for Switzerland (Digital Republic) that will be switched manaully when crossing the border. (so a little roaming might happen but usually, roaming is off)
As I am not really into the details, what is the best way to start debugging?
If I check the logs, what should I look for?
Additionally, we've noticed the Wi-Fi repeater appears to be continuously attempting to search for Wi-Fi networks. If you don't need it right now, click “Abort” to stop it.
The router is mounted in my Camper RV and therefore directly connected to 12V. We don't have mains available all time.
However the recent days, where I had a lot of drop outs, the Camper was connected to 230V and with that the internal battery charger was powering the router (13.7V DC).
I could try to use a 12V stabilizer but as in the routers data sheet it is written that the router accepts a wide voltage range.
If we are looking for current, our lifepos can deliver up to 200A.
I will also try to update the firmware for the router and the modem.
The system however tells me that I am already using the most recent firmwares.
Regarding Wifi.
If the camper is at home it automatically connects to our wifi. This is the preferred option before using mobile data.
Since I am on tour right the wifi is not reachable and the router keeps looking for it. It is convenient to not explicitly tell the router to connect or disconnect from the wifi.
Is there any way to have an automation like if not at home (GPS data) stop searching for that network?
Besides the GL-X3000, are there any other devices connected that might be sharing power, or could fluctuations be causing insufficient power supply to the GL-X3000?
That's a great suggestion.
But X3000 does not have GPS, so it does not support this feature.
Please try upgrading the device firmware to beta 4.8.2.
It can be download here: GL.iNet download center
