GL-X3000 Spitz loses modem while Roaming

Hi, I've been using a GL.iNet GL-X3000 Spitz for half a year in my country Germany without any issue. But since I'm roaming on holiday in Italy it frequently loses it's modem/connection completely.

I'm currently on Router Firmware 4.4.9 and Modem Firmware RM520NGLAAR03A03M4G_01.201.01.201 but I also tried RM520NGLAAR01A08M4G_01.203.01.203 without any improvement.

Kind regards
Jusic

What services have you enabled on the modem beside the default ones ?

Are you using German or Italian sim? If German did you set the roaming in the connection ?

Haven't changed anything regarding services from default.

I'm using a German Vodafone and a German o2 SIM, problem occurs with both. Yes roaming is enabled of course and works with both SIMs for some time. From some minutes up to several hours, but after some time it always dies and modem is unreachable until I reboot.

Can you try to flash it with the more stable version of Firmware 4.4.8?

Sure, did a downgrade right now. Will report after some time...

hello
When the problem occurs, can you download the log
thank you

Great. I would also try to disable the Multi-Tracking feature under the Network tab, and if possible lock the 5G bands for both SA/NSA.

Have used SIM1 for 24h and SIM2 for 24h without an issue. So probably realy a regression between Firmenware 4.4.8 and 4.4.9

hello,Jusic
Did you do anything before the problem occurred in 4.4.9 version?(Like clicking on the tower sweep)
Can you use 4.4.9 to help us confirm the problem?
When a problem occurs, you can share your device via GoodCloud
I can analyze the problem remotely
thank you

hello,SpitzAX3000 sir
Have you experienced the same phenomenon?

Yes I experienced sudden connection interruptions with version 4.4.9. Something not ok with this release.

Unfortunately now I can’t provide the logs as I am testing a vanilla openwrt.

I'm back to Germany and can't reproduce the issue with 4.4.9 anymore. To me it looked like something related to Roaming and a lot of mobile network switches. Because in Italy I had a lot of toggles between SIM1/Vodafone and SIM2/WINDTRE/TIM before the problem occurred.

hello
Can you also use 4.4.9 in Germany?
See if you can run into this problem again
thank you

That's what I told that I'm currently doing.

You can use it normally, only if you encounter this problem again
You can keep the environment and let me know
thank you :grinning:

So I'm roaming in Belgium since yesterday evening and it happened 3 times so far. Gonna share GoodCloud with you...

Just saw that a 4.4.10 beta Firmware was released. Did install it to test if it's any better. Shared GoodCloud via PM with you @ywp will be in Belgium until Sunday. So please take a look at it soon.

okay
Your device is not currently online in GoodCloud
Do you have another network?

So it also happens with 4.4.10, I connected the router to a Hotspot now so you can take a look.

I have adjusted, please continue testing
