Have you used keyword modem in the log viewer under System | Log ?

GL-X3000 connects fine to the cell network, but will not connect to data

IIRC the wrong APN could cause that symptom. Visible data has used the VZWINTERNET APN since Visible was bought into the Verizon network proper (no longer through the old gateway). If you're using the canned Visible connection preset in the GUI I think it has the old APN in it. VSBLINTERNET or something.

Yeah, thank you. I went around the block with that issue and more with Visible a couple of years ago. It was working fine before the v4.8.3 upgrade. I’m using the Verizon profile in the Admin interface, which sets the APN to VZWINTERNET. I think it also causes a couple of other things to happen behind the scenes too.

I also had problems with SMS on Visible for a long time, and that ultimately got resolved by setting one of the “other APNs” (sorry, I’m forgetting the proper terminology) which finally got that working. But right now, I’m much less concerned about SMS access than I am about data access period.
