Hi, we are aware of this issue and are investigating. Currently it's advised to use other esim services. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Getting the same error for Orange France

This should be the same issue. We've reported to the relevant team to check. Could you provide the purchase link of Orange France esim?

Orange FR esim

Great. Thanks

It is very frustrating - I tried Holafly and Orange eSIM (non-physical SIM) this week while travelling to Italy. I specifically purchased the Spitz Plus (GL-X2000) router two weeks ago for its advertised eSIM compatibility, so this issue is very disappointing. The eSIM partners of Gl.iNet are more expensive, and the download speed is inferior to that of competitive phone operators (e.g. Lebara) in roaming mode. If a solution cannot be provided promptly, I will have no choice but to return the modem and seek a refund. This is the kind of error message i get with orange (similar to holafly): Device start connect internet

  • Internet connect success

  • Device start download profile

  • Download profile: 50%

Sorry we are still investigate the issue of failed esim installation. Are you also using the Orange France esim?

The slow cellular speed might be due to the esim network being used.

  1. please check and ensure all antennas are connected properly.
  2. ensure the APN config is correct.
  3. refer to the tutorial Band Masking to block the current cellular band. This will connect router to other cellular bands for internet access.

See if you can get a better connection by above methods.

Thanks, Cathy. All antennas are connected properly. The APN config is aligned with the recommended EIOTCLUB APN (only 1 configuration is possible for Europe). Band masking has not helped at all. In the end,I had to use my mobile phone instead of the Spitz Plus (GL-X2000) router with both Holafly and Orage eSIM (France) while travelling. The EIOTCLUB eSIM I purchased, which was recommended as compatible with my router, uses Wind and offers up to 2 Mbps in download speeds. However, this is quite frustrating for most applications, as it's slower than my phone's data roaming speed.

Ok I could not install Holafly and Orage eSIM (France). I could install an eSIM from easySIM.global, which installed without error. However, now the router says that my physical eSIM is not registered. I tried rebooting, removing and re-inserting the eSIM card. Nothing works. What shall I do?

Regarding the slow speed, if you are using wifi, try to modify the wifi setting of the router, such as the wifi channel or wifi bandwidth, then see if it's better

To set up the easySIM.global:

  1. ensure the esim profile is enabled
  2. stop the cellular connection, reboot the modem and reconnect.
  3. If above steps don't help, try manual setup mode and enter the correct APN to see if it helps.

Any updates on this one @Cathy ?

Sorry this issue requires contacting the service provider for resolution and has not been fixed yet

FYI, I was able to successfully install an eSIM from Airalo. They’re a good option.

I’ve found this topic after purchasing Orange eSIM for 42 EUR and spent 2 hours debugging (google has not indexed this forum well). Have the same error 2 months later, is it that hard to publish a compatibility list for eSIM providers?

It’s not hard, if you would just search a bit Carriers supported by GL.iNet physical eSIM
