@Hoff ,I tested global yo Australia eSIM on the official EIOT physical esim (appears to be issued by CTM mobile/ CITIC telecom), and that failed to register on the network on my MUDI V2, but was successful when I inserted the EIOT card into my iPhone.. Additionally, this was on a fresh uboot flash of 4.0 0321beta1.

After some poking around with APN settings (which my iPhone correctly detected) I was able to make a custom profile to make it work on the MudiV2 device. For anyone else following/ having issues this is what I configured/used that eventually worked on the Mudi Device:

So it looks like some extra work/bugfix might be required from the GL.inet side to get correct detection of APN settings without too much user interaction..

Given that a lot of these ESIM providers appear to have different issuers depending on the destination country, there may need to be some more info about what country was tested etc in your table.

Hi C3P0, you are right and smart, thank you for your suggestion and feedback!

As for the problem you mentioned, we don't have a good solution at the moment. We have integrated as many as possible to add new APN list to the device database, but there will be many new esim profiles and they are very miscellaneous, so it is difficult to solve the problem fundamentally and completely. Consumers are reminded on the video and usage documents to check whether the purchased esim profile comes with a special APN. We are also actively considering new schemes, which may take some time.

Did anyone already tried an eSIM from Sparks on the physical eSIM ? They've good plans as well, but will it work ?

I think the probability is no problem, you can according to your needs, first buy a minimum data package for testing

I can confirm that Vodafone Portugal eSIM, doesn't work.

Can we register the eSIM we’ve purchased by inserting the EIOTclub physical eSIM into my phone, and then, once it’s registered, move it between devices?

Vodafone Portugal eSIM, doesn't work.
Can't Vodafone Portugal esim profile write to eSIM physical card? can you give us the logs or share your QR code and share your device(refer to this link: Technical support via GoodCloud - GL.iNet Router Docs 4) to us, let us to analyse?

I can confirm that Vodafone Portugal eSIM, doesn't work.

This sounds weird.

I'm using eSIM from Spanish Movistar in the EIOTClub eSIM adapter and it works.

I just needed to change the APN setting to "telefonica.es" because somehow it didn't offer it automatically.

Can you check if you need to manually provide the correct APN with Vodafone in Portugal?

I recently purchased a Sparks plan but can't get it to connect unfortunately. I reached out to support and they informed me the Sparks e-sims do not work on routers.

I contacted Orange to ask whether the e-sim can be used with a router. They told me that it only works in France. Is this correct? @Hoff

Hi onni, for some special esim profile, it need to special APN, most of provides will tell you their specail APN when they give you QR code. we are maintaining the APNs database, but there is no guarantee that all carrier information is 100% included or up-to-date.

We recommend two esim stores that cooperate with us. Do their packages meet your needs? Or are their packages too expensive?

Hi DreJ, some operators or virtual providers will indeed make specific restrictions based on their business considerations. We recommend two esim stores that cooperate with us, and you can buy from these two stores without restrictions. If their package does not meet your needs or the package price is not competitive, you can tell me. In the future, we will also launch our esim store.

Sadly they are much much more expensive than using local providers in each country. I would be happy to use them but for example the 30gb EU data for 60 days is 63$ from the https://esim_store.gl-inet.com.

This is more expensive than using Starlink roam or local cellular providers in Europe.

For example I can get 200gb of roaming data in EU and Schengen countries for ≈30-40€ per month using the local providers.

This month we were traveling in Bosnia & Herzegovina and 30gb for 10 days costs ≈2.5€.

Or even our Ford Transit internal modem has 50gb roaming data for 9.9€ per month.

We typically spend 100-150gb per month when traveling and it's roughly 10x more expensive from the 2 links you provided.

If the prices would be more competitive I would be happy to check them out.

Yes, it is very cheap, can you give me a link about Starlink esim? I can't find the right link with google, thank you very much!

I have a data point to add to your eSim compatibility list.

I tried eSim (using the official GL-iNet eSim) with US Mobile and it did not work despite multiple attempts. The status screen would get to 90% and hang. I made sure I had the IMEI number set to the number that I provided US Mobile (that was the only number they requested). I then tried to install the eSim on my Pixel 7a and it installed successfully. The router I was using is the GL-X3000 Spitz AX running 4.7.4 firmware and the latest cellular module.

Can you give me the logs?refer to picture below.

Hi doczenith1, I get your log, and give it to our engineer to analyse, the engineer said that it seems that the format is not compatible, but US Mobile is a relatively large virtual supplier, and esim profile should be a standard format.

Do you get the esim profile from here? https://www.usmobile.com,I tried to buy this esim profile to the engineer for testing, but found that it could not be purchased. Could you help to provide an eSIM profile for testing?
