I have several IOT devices on a 2.4GHz guest wifi network. I also have a device running Home Assistant connected to a LAN port on my Flint router. However, Home Assistant cannot connect to the devices on the guest network. How can I set up my network so that Home Assistant can access devices on the 2.4GHz guest wifi network?
The guest wifi network is supposed to be separated from the private network.
If you want these IoT devices be accessed in your private network, why not connect them directly to your private network.
I think it's because he wants needs to connect via a Lan port. So like myself he want to be able to set some of the lan ports on the device to use the guest network instead of the main network.
Just wondering if someone could help me out with this.
I have home assistant on a guest LAN port. I also have smart devices on a guest WiFi network. I want them to be able to talk to each other. I am not trying to access these devices from a private network, I just want guest WiFi to be able to talk to guest LAN.
@pyro Did you figure out a solution to this?
Ideally, there would be an easy to use VLAN feature to accomplish this however I do not have the skills needed to figure it out in LuCi.
Does this setting only allow guest networks to talk to each other (preferred) or does it also allow guest networks to talk to non-guest networks (undesirable) whuch defeats the purpose of guest networks.
Guest network does not talk with Private network.
This option isolate the clients connected on the guest network.
No I didn't get an answer to my question. I want to change one of the lan ports to only access the guest network.
Anyone help with this?
