Im in the USA - can I use a usb dongle for my SIMPoyo Physical eSim Card?

Im concern about this. There is a little of debate on the landing page wether this or is not possible on the US . The service at SIMPoYo uFi (SP-N150C4) – Plug & Play 4G USB Dongle with Hotspot - GL.iNet only show service it works in Europe, Asia, APAC, not the USA.

Now, why this matters to the original question? I want to either:

  1. Use the 5G / 4G high-speed sim card + Generic usb modem dongle to connect to my GL-3000
  2. Use the eSim physical card + Generic usb modem dongle to connect to my generic GL-3000 travel router
  3. Use the eSim physical card + Onix Celullar LTE with the catch it could not work (not all routers can connect bc has a module Quectel EG25-G - I believe GLi Net routers are not compatible)

Note: I want to use astrowarp with the router . The travel GL-E750V2C4 is not compatible with the travel router

okay, so GLI Net has a list of dongles the team tested.

One of these dongles + one of these carriers: Carriers supported by GL.iNet physical eSIM should work.

If you have a eSIM compatible modem you should watch out for physicial eSIM (yeah, I didnt knew this existed) . A physical eSIM must be on the device to unlock the modem function to read from QR eSIM codes ( eSIM Management - GL.iNet Router Docs 4 )

We plan to launch the U.S. version of SIMPoYo uFi at the end of November, which will come with built-in eSIM support.

Once you insert our Physical eSIM card, the eSIM functionality will be enabled.

Hi Hoff.

I ordered both. The 5G/4G High Speed SIM Card and the eSIM physical SIM

The 5G/4G High Speed SIM Card didn't unlock the “eSIM manage” options in my Mudi > Applications. Is this the default behavior?

Hello,

Because the high-speed SIM card does not have the eSIM profile feature, not an eSIM card.
So, this is normal behavior.

Please visit Activate SIM Card - Simcard Glinet or scan the QR code from the package to activate and enjoy.

Well… maybe it was wishful thinking to believe that would unlock the “eSIM manage” feature on my modem.
