To boost visibility, I post here, because we need your votes for the upcoming travel router in 2023: We need your opinion for the next generations of our travel router

We have a poll for gathering ideas for Brume 2, please cast your votes: Opinions are needed for next generation of Brume

Has there been any discussion about Tailscale integration? (And while weā€™re at it, using headscale as the control server)?

There is a package which can be installed via opkg on the Slate AX, but you have to set up all the routing and firewall rules manually (not a huge deal, butā€¦).

Update firmware to Openwrt 22.03
Mt1300 Beryl
AP1200 Opal

Implement device groups to allow different devices to be associated to different VPN location as per Express VPN software:

Preferably this would be achieved by becoming a supported router by Express VPN (so can install their add on software on your router), or by simply mimicking functionality by allowing us to set up / active multiple Open VPN profiles and associate devices (via MAC code) to specific VPN profile.

Use case for this is wanting to point different devices to different countries. I.e Apple TV to UK server & Nvidia Shield TV to Hong Kong server

This sounds like policy based routing. And I would love PBR. We need it.

Iā€˜m missing a counter of the total traffic generated. Although I can see how much traffic was generated by each client of my GL-AXT1800, I canā€˜t see how much traffic in total was transferred through the wifi uplink of the router (or LTE, wired,ā€¦)

As well, please consider to implement pi-hole as an alternative to adguard. A lot of countries banned Russian software and adguard is considered as russian in many of these countries.

Really? I never knew Adguard was Russian.

Me too:

AdGuard Software Limited was founded in 2009 in Moscow

How would they stop you from downloading the software? You can manually download the ipk file.

I know Adguard Home is founded by Russian. But it is also open source.

  1. MAC filter for WiFi devices (with Custom nick naming of devices)

  2. Allow/Disallow New WiFi devices checkbox

if a user knows WiFi password, sharing it becomes useless with implementation of above functions :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Support longer strings when importing WireGuard configs. If I still want to access private IPs but send all external traffic over WireGuard, the AllowedIPs need to include

AllowedIPs = 0.0.0.0/5, 8.0.0.0/7, 11.0.0.0/8, 12.0.0.0/6, 16.0.0.0/4, 32.0.0.0/3, 64.0.0.0/2, 128.0.0.0/3, 160.0.0.0/5, 168.0.0.0/6, 172.0.0.0/12, 172.32.0.0/11, 172.64.0.0/10, 172.128.0.0/9, 173.0.0.0/8, 174.0.0.0/7, 176.0.0.0/4, 192.0.0.0/9, 192.128.0.0/11, 192.160.0.0/13, 192.169.0.0/16, 192.170.0.0/15, 192.172.0.0/14, 192.176.0.0/12, 192.192.0.0/10, 193.0.0.0/8, 194.0.0.0/7, 196.0.0.0/6, 200.0.0.0/5, 208.0.0.0/4

but I assume the import canā€™t handle a string that long, and some of it is put in the next field.

Support adding more than one peer in the WireGuard client. Even if this isnā€™t exposed in the ā€œfill in the blanksā€ manual input, I should be able to paste an existing WireGuard config file with more than one peer that works with nearly every other client.

OOKLA SPEEDTEST built into the UI.

But due to lack of cpu and memory power, when testing speed on the router, the speed is always slower than testing on pc.

Ohā€¦Thatā€™s not the case on my ASUS router (HND RT-AC86u) but I didnā€™t think about the fact that GL-iNet is using ARM processorsā€¦So maybe that would be the case.

Maybe I am wrong. All need to test.

But the speed test on the router does not actually the same on the client, because on the client it does extra NAT and filtering etc.

Other speed test are availableā€¦

How do you please everyone?

OOKLA is the most widely used and often used for statistics (Was recently used to deny RDOF funds to STARLINK after failing to meet requirements). They used the OOKLA statistics.
