In the past, GL firmware supported times 64 characters long passwords for logging into the web interface. The password length here was the same as the maximum supported password length of 64 characters of the Wifi.
What password length the gl routers support for ssh is unknown to me.
The last few firmware versions, only a password with a length of 32 characters was possible for the web interface.
I ask GL to offer a password length of at least 64 characters in all places where you can use passwords in the GL router. After all, in a chain all links must be equally stable.
Pls check the bug lists. Some of the bugs have not been fixed for years and keep popping up in subsequent firmware versionsā¦
I have been testing for GL firmware for several months for free. There is probably still plenty of potential for improvement there.
But before I forget. The 4.x firmware looks much more mature than older firmware versions in some respects. Itās a pleasure to see these improvements.
I`d really love to see: āOptimize VPN policies to support multiple VPN clients at the same time and use composite VPN policies.ā
When traveling/working abroad I would really like having a WiFi on my Beryl which connects to my company wireguard VPN. And another WiFi (the Guest WiFi) which connects to a (for example) Mullvad VPN endpoint just for privacy. So my laptop could use the company ressources and my phone could allways use the guest wifi.
Would improve having multipe VPN configs on the device. Thanks a lot, firmware 4.x looks great so far (coming from a MT-300 āmangoā device running 3.x)
As I am using (& loving) Zenarmor on OPNsense and they have ARM support on their long-term roadmap ( Zenarmor Product Roadmap - Sunny Valley Networks ), I would love to see an integration here.
It would be pretty awesome to have DPI traffic insights, maybe some app/URL blocking capabilities, depending on what is possible on ARM.
I recently got the Slate AX as well as the Beryl AX and both seem pretty resourceful when it comes to CPU.
Iād love to see this too. Itās hard to find a consumer-grade product on the market that is both affordable and user-friendly. I was going to make a post about this. I live in New Zealand and Denmark, and my broadband speed tops out at 2.5Gbps (symmetrical). It would be so useful to have a device from GL.iNet that is capable of gigabit Wireguard speeds. As it is, Iām capped at 428Mbps with Flint.
Hi? I had Fritz!Box earlier and liked their Phone App. I see that you guys have Spitz AX it would be cool if guys make Dialer App that allows WiFi paired device to make/receive calls, send/receive text etc,ā¦
Our app can send and receive SMS messages using SIM cards on Spitz AX and other cellular routers that have been upgraded to 4.x.
We donāt have any plans to develop the feature of making/receiving calls at the moment. With the popularity of Facetime, Skype, Telegram, etc., it would be too much of an investment to develop such a feature and too little of a benefit.
Facetime telegram etc use internet to make phone calls,ā¦ Here, Iām talking about using cellular calls, every user who has an app can be assigned extension number (to receive calls) and place calls using special Dialer app.
My ISP, provides plans with unlimited data and calls (1500 mins), which can be used to make local or international calls. Some special trusted Employees have their own small plans but canāt afford making international calls. This will help that kind of situations and make use of available call minutes
In an event where internet gets disconnected (or any other critical fault, hack, attack occurs),ā¦ GL based trigger call can be placed to Admin using cellular services
yuxin.zou knows what you want. I know some modems could do something like that with asterisk (voip server) and a special asterisk plugin/module. Thatās all pretty complicated to do for likely few people who would want it. In this topic some were playing with it for GL-MiFi.
Still,ā¦ It doesnāt hurt to have more and more features available on firmware. In main page of Gl-net.com,ā¦ It could actually impress more people (regardless of how useless it may seem to developers right now)
Those Fritz!box people did the hard work one time but continued to publish telephony features in almost all of their products. Likewise,ā¦ Whatever feature you guys work on,ā¦ There will be few who will make use of it and become loyal to GL.
Please reconsider this one. Regulations certainly wonāt allow increasing power but they not only do allow reductions, sound engineering mandates using the minimum transmit power needed. And it is useful. Guest password is widely known? No problem, drop the power such that neighbors wonāt use it from their house across the street.
