How can I Watch what a client is doing right now?
Lets say I start browsing, maybe playing a game on a pc or whatever. How can I see what I client is doing? No not like the desktop or anything like that, but what ip's/machines it's connected to or trying to connect to?
Live or maybe after the fact.
Not really interested in amount of data or statistics.
Searched the forum here and found nothing… anything?
I'm just playing around trying to learn.
Try my project. It's beta/work in progress for my personal use but I can share it with others.
It started out as a project to store Netify data so I can see what my iot devices were calling online. I've added some features like network monitoring (ping test, speed test).
I haven't had much time to work on the project. You need to have some technical understanding and a computer/server/raspberrypi. You can install node.js and run the app. Or you can try the docker file on the repo. Also, You need to run the bash script to setup the router.
It will install all the needed files and packages but be warned, if you don't have decent hardware, like dual core, 512mb+ ram, it won't work. It will get data from your router (netify, netdata, nlbw, vnstat, and other custom reports stored in the routers www folder)
I tried to do a install and the install was simple and everything installed correctly.
But just like a few ppl I have a problem with the gui, there is none… now this may not be anything wrong with your software, but it may not be compatible with the “stock” setup of the Flint 2 firmware that I’m currently in.
Now, I’m not yet sure if I wanna go vanilla OpenWrt or stay with the Flint version. I’ve read some ppl having not as stable wifi and other things so I’m still thinking about that.
Id love to give it a spin and I do have a docker host (OMV) but not really sure how to do this all. And me like you (read on your git) have like a thousand things going on at work and home/fam. But, when I get the time I’ll give it a spin !
