Meet Flint 2 (GL-MT6000 )

I guess you cant mount it to the wall and point the antennas upwards, it seems you always need to put it flat on a surface, which is kind of a bummer. Space wise placing it vertically makes more sense.

i’ve order it on 17th of Oct but no updates yet for me…

I have order it 17th November and not updated delivery information… 8 to 12 days shipping time. Do I have contact to support where is my order?

Yes you can. The antennas ship folded over the router, and rotate back through 180 degrees.

It might make more sense to mount it high with the antennas pointing downward, because the cabling is all on the same side as the antennas.

I paid for the pre-order on Oct 24th and it still says unfulfilled in my account and I still have not received any email or anything about shipping. How are these people who ordered almost a full month later from me getting their orders shipped?

Super happy to hear that! thanks for the reply

I received the wrong power adapter…

strange, innit? would have expected to be the second wave but …

Indeed, I’m technically 3rd wave being after the super early bird and early bird, but to see someone who placed an order practically a month after mine and have it shipped, while I haven’t even received a status update or anything is insulting.

Same here, ordered 17th October, paid, unfulfilled.

Same, constant contact to support said it would be shipped this week, its now late on Friday 01/12/2023 and no surprise, we’ve had noting, we ordered on the 17th October too, early hours, its very insulting that someone who ordered a month later has had theirs shipped already.

Looks like very busy during black friday :see_no_evil:

Is there a step by step guide on snapshot installation?

Hopefully someone from support can chime in on this thread to maybe give us a reason as to why…

Edit: I finally received an email with tracking.

Order: #EU×××× - 07 Nov, 2023 2X€102,90
Total: €205,80
Shipping (DHL Paket (5- 8 working days delivery))

Ordered October 16 - It showed up today, actually early, I was surprised. Getting it up and running, was able to export all my static DHCP from my current Edgerouter Lite using a script, and import into the MT6000.

Have done a little testing, for grins I am using it as an AP until I am ready to cut over off of my Edgerouter. Plugged the WAN into a SFP+ port with a RJ45 adapter, and did an Iperf test to my Unraid machine on 10Gb. Consistently got 2.35Gbits/second on the link which is pretty good.

I am sure its possible, but I was thinking I would use both of the 2.5Gb ports for my network, and convert two of the norma Gb ports to WAN, since I have a Cable modem, and LTE backup ISP. I am pretty sure I will need to do that in Luci, and that it is not possible in the GL.Inet frontend.

As stock, the router is only using 20% of the 1GB of ram, and 414MiB / 7.19Gib or 5% of the storage space

The wifi signal is very good, on 5Ghz with my iphone 11, I was getting 800+ Mbits close to the MT6000. With it in the basement, the signal would reach all the way to the ront of my house and garage, and that was with it right under all the ductwork from the furnace.

I have two Belkin Rt3200’s with openWRT that I can compare to, this so far seems much better, but time will tell for stability.

BTW mine is running “OpenWrt 23.05.0 r23497-6637af95aa / LuCI openwrt-23.05 branch git-23.236.53405-fc638c8”

Mike

Looks like you install the Factory Image and any updates after that you just install the SysUpgrade…
I’m still waiting on my Flint2 so I haven’t done it yet…

Do you really need to to that? Are you just trying to get rid of their interface?

We are now shipping every day and expect to complete all pre-orders by Dec 5th.Thx.
